Melissa Karagoz, The Heart & Soul Behind Liberta

I am Melissa Karagoz, the heart and vision behind Liberta. At my core, I am a guide, a space-holder, and a seeker of truth.
My life has been shaped by a deep calling to understand the human experience (body, mind, and spirit) snd to support others in stepping into freedom, healing, and wholeness.
I’ve walked a path of service, resilience, and transformation. From working nearly a decade in mental and physical health care to studying the esoteric, spiritual, and psychological frameworks of life, I bridge science and spirituality with lived experience.
My approach is grounded, yet deeply intuitive; professional, yet profoundly personal.
For me, self-work is not just theory—it’s something I live every day. My own healing journey has taught me the importance of nervous system regulation, self-trust, and conscious connection. I believe in the power of turning wounds into wisdom and using every challenge as a stepping stone to personal freedom.

Educational Background
My professional foundation was built through five years of education and training to become a nurse, followed by a diploma in Personal Counseling. I went on to gather more than nine and a half years of hands-on experience in mental and physical health care, where I worked closely with people navigating some of life’s hardest moments.
Alongside this, I immersed myself in a wide spectrum of studies:
- Certified in Energy Healing and Holistic Massage (2022)
- Over 1,200 hours of self-development training
- 8 years of dedicated study in esoteric wisdom, metaphysics, psychology, neuroscience, quantum physics, family dynamics, and spiritual traditions
My learning has never been limited to classrooms. I’ve studied from lived experience, from community work, from guiding others, and from walking through my own initiations of healing and growth.
My Experience with Plant Medicine
Like many, I once held fear around psychedelics—yet also curiosity. Alcohol never resonated with me, and I’ve been proudly alcohol-free for over three years. My journey with plant medicine began in 2016 with LSD, and in 2018 I experienced psilocybin in a therapeutic way for the first time.
Since then, plant medicine has become a meaningful part of my path. I’ve participated in ceremonies, retreats, and integration processes, learning how to apply the wisdom of these tools for deep healing and transformation.
My professional work also extended into this realm. I’ve guided and supported hundreds of people through psychedelic crises and breakthroughs while working with PsyCare, an organization dedicated to mental health and drug awareness at festivals.
These experiences gave me profound insights into trauma, altered states of consciousness, and the resilience of the human spirit.

Why Did I Start Liberta?
My company was first called The Mayan. Honoring a past loved one and the wisdom the Mayan carried within them. The logo with the moon and a black background. Black as the void in which all posibilities are born. As time past I felt it was time to go into a different direction with the representation of my vision of my company.
The vison and branding of my company has always been: " Only you can liberate yourself". This core value is founded in the name and new approach I have towards the way I run my company and the support I facilitate. My mission and the sole mission of Liberta is to liberate every person that encounters it in such a way, they can reconnect with the infinite power within thenselves.
I founded Liberta, a project born from my deepest values. Liberta means freedom, and its rainbow-colored tree logo represents both the Tree of Life and the spectrum of human potential. The name reflects not only my personal healing but also the freedom I wish to inspire in others.
My vision with Liberta was to create a space where ancient wisdom meets modern understanding, where spirituality is applied practically, and where people can feel safe to explore themselves on every level—physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.
My studies in Kabbalah and the Tree of Life have deeply influenced how I hold space and build my work.
Liberta was a rebirth. It marked a turning point from my previous company, From the Mind, into a new chapter where I aligned fully with who I am becoming and what I feel called to share.

Other Work and Contributions
My heart for service extends beyond one-on-one work. I co-founded a charity organization, raising funds for medical operations and creating real impact. While organizing and facilitating full moon events, we not only supported people during the events through the processing of trauma at a breathwork ceremony, but also raised money during the events to help others.
Together with my co-partner, I helped raise enough money for 150 people in Kenya to receive cataract surgeries, giving them the gift of sight.
These experiences have grounded me in the value of community, compassion, and taking action for something greater than myself.
